Upcoming Events

The 2018 event programme comprises seven Club lunches, an Annual Reception and three Young Aerospace Professionals’ (YAP) Receptions.  All functions are open to Members and their invited guests with the exception of the YAP Receptions, which are also open to non-members.  Each event offers an excellent platform for business, hospitality and networking in a friendly club-like environment.

LUNCHES:  Traditionally held at the Institute of Directors at 116 Pall Mall, London SW1Y 5ED and hosting an average of 160 attendees at each function, our lunch events are extremely popular and offer plenty of opportunity for industry networking or hosting.  For full details and to book for future lunch events CLICK HERE

ANNUAL RECEPTION:  Our Annual Reception will be held on Tuesday 10 July 2019 in the Grand Room of the Barber-Surgeons’ Hall, London from 6:30 – 8:30pm, supported by MAPLES.

The speech this year will be dedicated to Concorde as we celebrate her 50th anniversary, delivered by guest of honour Captain Michael Bannister (retired).  As UK Concorde Chief Test Pilot, Mike was at the controls of British Airways’ Supersonic flagship when she returned to service on 7 November 2001 and for the final scheduled flight from New York to London on 24 October 2004.  During the final few high profile years of Concorde’s operation Mike acted as Company Spokesman for British Airways working world wide across all channels of communication in promotional, current affairs and documentary areas.

After Concorde’s retirement Mike’s management role was expanded and on retirement he left from the position of General Manager, Airbus, Boeing 737/757/767, Concorde and Gatwick Fleets – all of BA’s short and medium haul operations. In that role he was responsible for Flight Operations, technical performance, business performance, and Flight Crew management together with developing and maintaining standards for flying crew on these fleets. The business for which he was directly responsible included around 1400 Flight Crew, 135 aircraft and a budget of £250m (present day value) Since then he has used his extensive aviation and general management experience across a broad spectrum of commercial, charity and community activities and we are delighted he is able to join us for the evening.  Mike is also a long term member of the Aviation Club UK.

YOUNG AVIATION PROFESSIONALS’ PROGRAMME:  The Aviation Club UK’s Young Aviation Professionals’ programme launched in May 2018 and was created for our younger industry colleagues, aged between 20 and 35 years.  The current programme comprises three informal evening networking Receptions in June, September and December.  Each event runs from 6:00 – 7:30pm and is open to both members and non-members.  Tickets cost just £20 per person and its a great way to meet with existing colleagues and connect with new industry contacts.  YAP event attendees are, of course, welcome to join the Aviation Club UK as full members.  To book for future YAP events CLICK HERE

Details for all forthcoming events are shown on the relevant event pages or can be booked below.  Please click on the event link at the foot of the page to book tickets via the secure online booking system.

Refund policy:  Refunds will be made on cancellations received ten working days prior to an event, less a £12 (inc VAT) administration charge per lunch/annual reception booking and £6 (inc VAT) administration charge per YAP Reception booking.  After this period, no refunds will be given, and any cancellations or no-shows will be subject to full charge.
