Viktor Berta brings over 10 years of structured aviation finance, advisory and investment management experience gained at 3 renowned European aviation lenders and a Middle-Eastern aviation consulting firm. His strengths lie in the origination, structuring and execution of structured aviation finance deals and cover a broad range of aviation assets and financial products.
Viktor Berta started his career at DVB Bank’s Deucalion team, following which he’s joined Erste Bank where he co-headed the Bank’s efforts in managing and restructuring the aircraft and engines loan portfolio during the Covid-19 pandemic. During 2021/2022 he spent 14 months in the Middle-East successfully establishing the Aviation Finance Advisory arm of a global consulting firm based in Dubai.
In his current role as Director, Aviation and Space Finance at BayernLB he is responsible for global lessor coverage and heads the Bank’s aircraft and engine portfolio financing activities out of its London branch.
Viktor Berta holds an MSc in Corporate Valuation from the University of Amsterdam, a BSc in Economics from the Budapest Business School and also completed the Law Society of Ireland’s Diploma in Aviation Leasing and Finance program and CFA UK’s Investment Management Certificate program.
Alongside the Aviation Club, he is a member of the International Society of Transport Aircraft Traders (ISTAT) and the Royal Aeronautical Society and has been recognized as one of the 40 under 40 future industry leaders by the Airline Economics magazine.
