Nigel Milton is Director of Communications at Heathrow Airport, leading Heathrow’s Press Office, Public Relations, Internal Comms, Political Affairs, Business Engagement and Policy teams. He also represents Heathrow on a wide range of trade associations and lobbying groups. As Heathrow’s Director for External Affairs between 2013 and 2016, Nigel led the communications campaign to win support for a third runway at the airport.
Nigel joined Heathrow from Virgin Atlantic in March 2010 where he had spent six years in the External Affairs department. Before that he was Assistant Director for International Aviation at the Department for Transport (DfT), and was previously Private Secretary to the Deputy Prime Minister and Secretary of State for Transport, John Prescott. Nigel graduated with a law degree from Oxford University in 1993, and also has a Masters degree in Transport Planning and Management from the University of Westminster.
