Jane Johnston – Immediate Past Chairman

Jane is Head of Corporate Affairs for NATS, the UK’s leading provider of air traffic services, now expanding into international markets. She is responsible for NATS’ UK political and trade relationships, and for communications on Single European Sky.

A communications professional who has worked as a journalist in Fleet Street and across a range of internal, media and political communications roles both in-house and in consultancy, Jane has a wide-ranging knowledge of the aviation, transport and infrastructure sectors.

She has worked at international, national and local level on policy issues as diverse as aviation policy, immigration controls, infrastructure, environmental issues, volcanic ash fall-out, taxation, Olympics, pensions and business reorganisation (including the NATS PPP). She has also managed major public consultations on airspace change.

Her aviation experience includes more than 15 years at British Airways and almost ten years at NATS. She served as the Aviation Club’s Treasurer in 2012/13.

Any spare time is filled riding her retired racehorse, skiing, current affairs – and attempting to tame her small slice of Hampshire countryside.
